What Type Of Septic System to Install?
Standard Septic System In a conventional septic system, gravity carries wastewater from the house into the septic tank and then to the drainfield. The septic tank is an underground box usually made of concrete, polyethylene, or fiberglass.
Capping Fill System are standard systems with the trenches installed shallower than a standard trench would be allowed. Soil must be brought in to be mixed and then added over the drainfield to allow for adequate cover.
Pressure Distribution A pressure head is created within the laterals, usually by means of a pump or siphon. Pressure distribution is applicable to any system which uses soil as a treatment medium and may improve long term performance of those systems.
Sand Filter Septic Systems A filter used in water purification and consisting of layers of sand arranged with coarseness of texture increasing downwards. … ‘A sand filter is a gravel-filled hole in the ground, lined with a watertight membrane, which purifies the septic tank effluent before it goes to the drainfield.’ Sand filters are used as a step in the water treatment process of water purification. There are three main types; rapid (gravity) sand filters, upward flow sand filters and slow sand filters.
ORENCO ATT Systems Alternative Treatment Technologies are wastewater treatment devices. These treatment devices take wastewater generated from a home or business and improve its quality before sending it to a drainfield for further treatment and dispersal. Typically ATT systems are designed to perform as well as a sand filter or provide additional treatment capabilities. Oregon Department of Environmental Quality rules require that an Operation and Maintenance service contract is established and continued for the life of the system.
Holding Tanks A holding tank, also called a waste water holding tank or black (water) tank, is a container for storing sewage in vehicles equipped with toilets. …Holding tank can also refer to a sealed, buried tank used to hold waste from a house or other building (and can be from 2000 gallons and up).
Pump Stations are facilities including pumps and equipment for pumping fluids from one place to another. They are used for a variety of infrastructure systems, such as the supply of water to canals, the drainage of low-lying land, and the removal of sewage to processing sites.
Lift Stations Sewage/Wastewater lift stations, also called pump stations, are used for pumping wastewater or sewage from a lower to higher elevation, particularly where the elevation of the source is not sufficient for gravity flow and/or when the use of gravity conveyance will result in excessive excavation and higher.
